Welcome to the Blogging community, Jimba

I would like everyone to give my parents a big blogging welcome like I know you all know how! They finally join us here in the cyber world at http://jimba2.blogspot.com/ and I want them to feel as welcome as you all helped me to feel when I joined this world so long ago...

*starring into space with a slight smile and twinkle in my eye thinking of sweet memories of asking you all to help name my first piggy bank*

Ok I'm back.

"So where does this funny name "'Jimba'" come from" you ask? Well my father's name is Jimmie and my mother's name is Kimba. No, she's not from africa. Put the two together and you have Jimba!

Love you Mom and Dad and I'm so excited to watch you on you Blogging journey!
(why do I feel like I'm watching my little kid go off to school?)

I have so much room I could DANCE!

I'm not at liberty to disclose who is in this video, but she has allowed me to give you the story of how it came to be.

She went to her normal hotel that she always goes to, but for some reason instead of the standard small room with the queen bed she normally get's they gave her a quite large room with a King bed, microwave, fridge, couch, 3 nightstands, 2 desks, 2 computer chairs, and blah blah blah. Anyway, she quickly text her friend/coworker who was also staying in a hotel that night and said "I have so much room I could Dance in here!!!" That friend/coworker texted her back and said, "If you do, you must take video of it!!!" And here is what quickly ensued:

But the funniest part, in my opinion, is that right after that bed jumping spectacle, she got a call on her hotel phone from the front desk. Just to set the scene right she was on the 2nd floor. The conversation went something like this:

Her: ? Hello?

Front Desk: Hello ma'am. Is everything all right up there?

Her: Yes, why?

Front Desk: Well we had some guests comment that there was quite some noise coming from your room so I just wanted to check and make sure you are ok.

Her: ...uh, weird, I'm the only one in this room. I'm just fine. Thank you for checking!

Front Desk: No problem, ma'am. Sorry to bother you.

Her: *click, giggle giggle giggle*

Hotel Bliss:

When staying in a hotel room alone there is nothing better than my laptop, good books (we won't discuss what the one hiding is), fruit leathers to snack on (what? you've never tried them?! oh you must!,) and the new shoes I just bought... in two colors. :)

Darn you Taco Bell...

... and your oh-so-good unhealthy food, not to mention the recently discovered Frutista Freeze.... mmm. Even though you only put one napkin and about 45 packets of mild sauce in my bag I still love you. I will try to wait another few months to visit you. DARN YOU TACO BELL!

Poor Baby

It breaks my heart to hear any baby cry, but sometimes the cutest pictures are when babies are crying. Thanks Aaron, for snapping this at just the right time!

It's Just A Ten Foot Tall Van

Don't be worried if you saw me driving this around Utah County on Monday:
It was just me working. :) Yes, that thing is twice my height and I was quite impressed how well I was able to maneuver that beast!

Meet Ichabod

He came to life tonight and I hope he stays for a while. He is the protector of the house. The keeper of peace. I'm sure you all guessed that from this picture. More to come on how is arrival came about.

Happy October!

Halloween Magic

I found a simple little poem to go with my ooze skull candle. It has nothing to do with skulls, but has the mischievousness that I feel when looking at it. (When looking at any Halloween Decoration for that matter.) Enjoy.

HALLOWEEN MAGIC
A bald-headed ghost
Drank some witches' brew
And on top of his head
A strange thing grew.

It was pointed and tall
And black as a bat
With stringy long hair
Where his head was flat.

The sad little ghost
Didn't want any hair
Or a black pointed hat
So he said, "Witch beware!"
Then he chanted some words
With a spell-casting switch
And gave Halloween Night
A bald-headed witch!!

I'll preview more of my Halloween decorations later on when I get them all placed around the house. ;)

Happy October!!!

In my humble opinion, as I have stated before, October is the BEST month of the whole entire year! And even though I am a couple days late, I want to wish everyone a Spooktacular October and the best Halloween ever!!! (yes, I did just say Spooktacular and I'm not ashamed)

To honor this blessed month K and I will be posting on our blog a new Halloween inspired top 5 list EACH DAY! They will be filled with our favorites, our worsts, and things we hope to remember or forget for the rest of our lives! ;)

This isn't to say I will neglect my blog though. I will be posting great October insired pictures and stories as well on here giving you all a little more insight into why I would be happy if it was October all year long! And all I can hope for through this month if you read this blog or K and I's blog is that we can inspire you to love Halloween and/or October just a little more than you did last year!

So in the words of the Joker: Here We GO!

I'M NOT AN ANGRY PERSON

I hate University Pkwy between the hours of 5 and 7 pm... 7 and 9am... 12 and 2 pm... ugh

Oh and I'm ok with the increase of residents due to the beginning of the BYU semester, but i'm not ok with the people that think it's ok step out from in between cars to cross the street on 5th north in Provo and expect the car that is 20 feet away from them to magically come to a stop! Then i'm even more NOT ok when they jump back in shock and glare at said car when it does not stop, but has to slam on it's brakes... oh and it's even better when they are holding little kid's hands. (No, I'm not kidding)

Oh wait this is EVEN better: when it's the dead dark of night and they must think they have a magical glow around thier BLACK clothes and that everyone can see them and they don't even look up to see if they are going to be smashed into the pavement like a bug's guts after you've stepped on it. YOU ARE NOT TOO COOL FOR THE ORANGE CROSSING THE STREET FLAGS... YOU ARE LACKING BRAIN CELLS FOR NOT USING THEM!!!

I would love to go to rome... good thing i belong there.

You Belong in Rome

You're a big city soul with a small town heart
Which is why you're attracted to the romance of Rome
Strolling down picture perfect streets, cappuccino in hand
And gorgeous Italian people - could life get any better?

Friday night activity: online quizes with a sleeping dog

You Are Disturbingly Profound

You're contemplative, thoughtful, and very intense.
Taking time to figure out the meaning of life is a priority for you.
Because you're so introspective, you often react in ways that surprise people.
No one can really understand how you are on the inside... and that disturbs them.

You MUST see this!!!

Please visit my other blog that I share with K popsnchellor.blogspot.com and look at the little video for today's post. K loves me so much that he hired someone to do this! How did I luck out with him?! Let the Halloween Celebrations commence. (2 months is enough time to celebrate right?) :)

Bloggin Rut

I have sadly been in a blogging rut. I don't know exactly why. Maybe it's the lack of creativity I've been feeling lately in my life. No, I don't pity myself because we all know I have plenty of time for extras almost everyday, but I am feeling a little... well, just blah.

I love work. Most know how much I enjoy my job, but it's still work. I have the time of my life each and every moment I spend with K, but those moments are limited... maybe I just need to cherish what I do have and stop searching of extras??? Well if anyone has any ideas please let me know. In the meantime I'm on quest for creativity and a blogging breakthrough!

Ciao for now :)

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!

Normally I am utterly annoyed when stores start putting decorations out for things that are 3 seasons away, but I love halloween so much that I get giddy when i see things like this in stores to decorate your house with.

I love that so many of us are ready and waiting to try to creep people out or represent the creep we always are. Either way it makes me smile with great joy!

Even though I hate the cold, my favorite time of year is October by far. Not only is it the time when leaves are turning so beautiful and the weather is in changing mode (if it's not already snowing), but it's also when the world and all it's occupants show their creepy, scary, goulish side without having to hold back! (not to mention my birthday within that month) :)
I also love the fact that, because I love Halloween so much, K is so ready and willing to turn my apartment into a full on haunted house! Two years ago I had to work on Halloween, but when I got home that night I walked in my house to find creepy haunty music playing, black lights lighting fake cobwebs all over the place so much that you could barely walk around. He also had the dog that I was babysitting stratigically placed behind a giant cob web so it looked like he was about to get eaten by the HUGE spide that had created that web!!! :D It was so spooky and I L.O.V.E.D it! (I'll see if I can find the pictures)
I just can't wait to Spook out everyplace I spend more than an hour a day in. That includes my house, work, my car, and the little bookstore that I go to... I wonder if they'll let me put him up:

I think Halloween is the greatest time of year and the greatest Holiday ever, but Who doesnt?!

I'm late on posting so....

I have a few travel posts that I'm quite late on posting so...

I'm putting it off longer so I don't stay up till 2 am working on each of those posts and leaving you with a picture of a sight that has made me happy each time I've looked at it these past 6 months:

I love Spokane. Thank you, work for letting me go there.

Um, Draw an Elephant, Mommy!

I'm a proud aunt... it's simply a know fact to everyone who knows me. I could talk about my nieces and nephews and all thier cute little personalities for hours!

And it's for reason's like this:

On this particular morning, oblivious to the conversations going on and people around her, little Avyrlie Lillian Izumi wanted nothing more than for mommy to draw animals in the frost from her glass of water. And to mommy's dismay each time she would rotate the cup to draw another animal then rotate it again the frost would be back so Avyrlie would, of course, ask for another, and more dificult to draw animal.

"Um, draw a cat!" *waits anxiosly for mom to get done, smiles, stairs, in thought, for exactly 3 seconds* "Draw... a... Elephant!" and this repeated for at least 5 more minutes.

Way to fight through it Aimee! ;>

Astronaut Pops For Everyone!

Oh how I love Astronaut Pops formerly known as Big Stick Popsicle.

I guess they still are referred to them as that but K giggles each time I say it so I started buying Astronaut Pops (albertson's brand) that are just as delectable! I would have to say these are in my top 5 of favorite summer treats right under Squishys aka Slurpees from 7-11. With that said I invite everyone to go to Albertsons and buy a pack of Astro Pops or come over to my house and enjoy one with me out on the grass! :) Love ~Chellor

I was just too slow...

I guess K was sick of waiting for a time when we actually were together to submit our first post on our blog He finally made our first, and very official, post so everyone go check it out and continue to peek at it because now that we've broken the barrier of that first post there will be a lot more and more often... than not at all like before. :T Thanks K for being brave enough to take the plung into blogdom even though you still think that's a dirty word or refering to internal organs... weirdo. popsnchellor.blogspot.com. LOVE YA K!

Good day.

I love warm summer days. The kind where you can go outside without immediately melting the skin off your bones in heat or without needing a parka for the cold. 70-80 degrees is just right for me! Keep it up Utah or we may have to move to San Diego like we've been threatening! :) Just kidding, Nikki.... well at least for this year!

It's official in the cyber world.

.
K and I started a blog. I've been finding that the majority of what I want to post has to do with him and I so I decided instead of turning mine into ours like a good girl maybe would I would create a new ours. Nope that didn't make much sense to me either. Regardless it's official. We are a couple in the cyber world. Click on the picture above to be directed there or go to popsnchellor.blogspot.com
.
Don't get your panties in a bunch when you go there because we haven't yet posted anything and I've hardly even formatted it yet. But oh, just you wait. Wonderfulness is bound to ensue on there! Please stay tuned.
.
Before I close I want to thank the wonderful kindness of smeeta for letting us use her picture for our header. (It's of two ninja dolls she handcrafted might I add. Yeah, i know... amazingly wonderful and yummy!) I came across it one day while searching fantastic hand made items on etsy and behold: the perfect picture that depicts K and I's relationship better than I could ever say in words! Click on the pic below or her shop name above to see other goodness she has made and is for sale.

HELP! Wanted: Sweet old bodied Scion XB

I'm calling for everyone's help, PLEASE!

I have been looking for a Scion XB to purchase for a little while now without any luck. The small problem is that I cannot find one with the criteria I would like. I'm looking for the old body style not the new 2008 bodies. I think the more boxy style fits my rad self and is much sexier. Another thing I so desperately am seeking is this specific color:

This is not the maroon color that you see here and there. Its the deeper reddish one that you see almost NOWHERE! And the one I have fallen in love with.

Then after that here are other things I am looking for, but can be a little flexible on:

*Cruise Control: I commute ever day and have learned that not having it sometimes sucks
*Lower Miles: Again I commute everyday and would hate to be putting more mile on an already high mile vehicle.
*One without flames painted on it: Really? Who does that to a Scion?! C'mon guys n gals, it's really not that cool at all!

That last one I actually will NOT be flexible on. I'm not going to pay for a new paint job!

And really I'm starting to lose hope and look at other colors as well. Even though this one was my first pick back when I first fell in love with the car, but wasn't ready to purchase one:

I don't know if I would love driving around in that color. ;) You have to admit that color suits me though!

If any of you see an old body Scion XB for sell (of any color) could you please let me know?! I'm begging for help with this! You can email me at
imachellorhead at yahoo dot com
or if you know me well text me any contact info for the car.

Thank you all in advance for your help in my Scion XB quest!

Now Boarding Rows 1-30

I have a love affair with traveling alone. K is my favorite travel buddy, but there's something about jet setting by myself that is silently romantic. And the time that I fall most in love with it all is when I'm in my hotel room.

This does not mean the I don't miss being with family and friends (namely K), but I love my alone time so getting to travel alone fills me with great pleasure.

I always try to find new things where ever I go. I don't like to just stick to a comfort zone of my printed out Mapquest maps that go from destination A to destination B. I found a few new places on this last trip, but right before coming home, I was quite a bit early for my plane and very hungry. There were a few places in the airport to choose from, but for some reason "David's Pizza" called my name.

Maybe it was the fact that it had a picture of the sculpted David behind it. I was sold when I saw they had Pesto, Feta, Basil, and Tomato pizza. I ordered it to go, got my standard Iced venti soy Chai from Starbucks (an airport staple) and went to the nearest window seat by my gate to watch airplanes on the tarmac and eat in silent joy.

What a great ending to another romantic trip... even if it was just for work.

Oh P.S. I'm still sick.

I'm Sick

I'm just sick and although I really should be packing for a work trip right now I just plain and simple don't want to do anything!

Ok that's a lie.

All I want to do is lay in bed and watch a good movie and fall asleep very early and wake up to my bags packed and everything I need to get done before I leave to be magically completed. Any volunteers? Oh and I'll need my sinuses to be cleared as well so my head doesn't explode on the plane.

Stewart Falls/Snow hiking = sore legs

I said there was more to come in that last post so to keep true to my word (yes i'm still going to post about San Diego, Kyle) here is more. :)

Those photos in the previous post were of the side of Stewart Falls that K and I hiked to on Saturday. Please see below for more on Stewart Falls itself:

We've been trying to dedicate part of our Saturdays and/or Sundays to hikes, trails, and sights in Utah since we haven't experience a large part of the beauty this state has to offer and have both lived here for so long. (Me: all my life, K: about 12 years)

The hike starts up past Sundance and is around 2 miles to get to the falls. K said there was a sign that said "Bear Country", but the only threatening thing I saw was this spider

It's not too tough of a hike and well worth it when you get there! It's so gorgeous and that calming noise waterfalls make as they crash onto the earth below makes the pain in your butt go away instantly!

There is a smaller little waterfall directly to the right of St. Falls that this little bird was loving! He would perch right by the water and just bob up and down happy as can be looking around just like all the people by the big falls

K wanted me to stand directly under the falls and I totally would have if it wasn't so slippery! In my mind I saw my body plunging to an unforeseen fate as I looked at the slippery rocks and the water quickly rushing pass them! But it sure did feel good to have the slaps of water drops fall upon my face in the 80+ degree weather.

Self Portrait of us... Awww

It took us about 45 minutes to get there and like 5 days to get out. (ok not 5 days, but we were tired and it seemed like forever!) Before hiking out we noticed that you can come straight up the river from Sundance and it's only 1.5 miles.

I think we may try that route next time!

4 Hours after starting our adventure, we returned safely back to our car. Even though legs and bums are sore today we will continue our adventures and get as much in of Utah's beauty as we can so when we move we'll have no regrets! Oh and yes, I recommend this hike and site seeing adventure to everyone. :) The end.
